In early 2000, I started vocalizing about the wellness crises in America. Going to networking groups and speaking to business owners and government leaders, my message was heard, but very often, dismissed. Unfortunately, decision makers were not making the connection between high insurance costs and their employees' health. Blaming insurance companies on their profit margins, or the doctors and hospitals for cost of services, the real issues were not being addressed. "People, the reason why it's so high is because we are using it too much!" This was my frustrated remark whenever I heard about the "healthcare crises". Wellness was the answer and the only way we were going to control the future fiscal fitness of our country.
I'm happy to report that the Wellness Movement is NOW in high gear! You can't turn the page of a newspaper or magazine, or change the channel on your TV without seeing or hearing the word. This makes me very happy, but also anxious. I'm eager to share what I know and to guide people in the right direction. Fortunately, there are a few more Wellness Advocates out there to help carry the load. Allow me with the use of this site to further guide you on your company's wellness journey.
